¿Porque una canción se vuelve un himno?
porque llegado el momento da lo mismo cantarla en un estadio a todo pulmón, ponerla a todo volumen en el auto, tararearla en el metro de Buenos Aires rumbo al zoo; porque se te viene a la mente luego de la penultima copa, o cuando llegas a casa con ganas de no volver nunca al trabajo, luego de una llamada telefónica de esas que de tan dramáticas, hacen de tu vida un verdadero drama; porque no importa si tienes talento para el canto, apenas poder hacerte la pregunta una y otra vez, porqué la cantan tantos y cada uno a su modo; cómo se hace para que una canción se vuelva la banda sonora de la vida de alguien, o de muchos… la respuesta la ignoro, pero si me se la letra de la canción que me conduce a ese estado:

Pixies: el laberinto sónico

Muchos de los nacidos en los ochenta nunca los han escuchado, o no saben que los han escuchado,; ignoran que la mayoría de las bandas que cambiaron los parametros de la música a princios de los noventa estaban influenciados por ellos (Kurt Cobain tenía entre sus preferidos el albúm Surfer Rosa de Pixies)

No sólo las bandas grunge o Indies, sino también cultores del noise, e incluso grupos con vocación mucho más pop, y es que cada uno de ellos aprovecho uno de esos reflejos que hacían y hacen tran atractivos a los Pixies, su música de canción en canción nunca suena igual.

Son capaces de infundir una pasión distinta, a veces más tendencia a tocar de la manera más ruidosa posible, a veces rendidos al placer de cantar haciendo coritos. Desaparecidos durante mucho tiempo, merced de una dolorosa ruptura entre ellos, regresaron con el nuevo siglo a tocar en festivales para nuevos públicos, para chicos que de ellos sólo conocían el logo, y supieron encantarlos.

Colocó aquí un video de Where is my mind, canción que me gusta muchísimo y que quizás la mayoría conozca en la versión de los Placebo. En el video es de un concierto de Placebo en París, allí y para delirio del público, apareció en el escenario Black Francis, el cantante de Pixies, para una emocionante interpretación acompañado de Brian Molko en la voz, y del resto de la banda inglesa.
